GoWhys Privacy Policy

Scope of this policy

This policy applies to the GoWhys website at gowhys.com. It does not govern websites operated by Trusted Partners, transportation providers, tourism organizations, government agencies, booking services, or other third parties linked from GoWhys.

GoWhys is currently an informational website. It does not offer visitor accounts, a newsletter signup, a general contact form, a factual-error form, onsite booking, or an onsite purchase system.

Technical information processed when the site is visited

Like most websites, GoWhys depends on web-hosting infrastructure that may automatically process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include an Internet Protocol address, request date and time, requested page or file, referring page, browser or device information, and technical error or security information.

This information may appear in ordinary server or security logs maintained through the hosting environment. GoWhys may use available technical records to operate the site, diagnose problems, maintain security, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate technical performance.

GoWhys does not currently maintain visitor profiles or combine ordinary site activity with a visitor account because the site does not offer visitor accounts.

How GoWhys search works

The current New Orleans search feature runs in the visitor's browser and reads a search index stored on GoWhys. The search does not send the phrase to a separate GoWhys search database.

The search phrase appears in the search page's web address after the ?q= parameter. Because that address is requested from the web server, the phrase may be included in ordinary hosting, security, browser-history, or network records. Visitors should not enter sensitive personal information into the search field.

GoWhys does not intentionally create a separate profile from search phrases or use them for targeted advertising.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising technology

GoWhys does not currently deploy site analytics, advertising pixels, behavior-recording tools, third-party tracking scripts, or GoWhys-set cookies.

If analytics, advertising technology, cookies, or similar tools are added later, this policy will be updated to explain what is used, what information is processed, why it is used, and what choices are available before or when those tools become active.

Sale and disclosure of personal information

GoWhys does not sell personal information. Technical information may be processed by service providers that host, deliver, maintain, or protect the website.

Information may also be preserved or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, investigate security incidents or abuse, or protect the rights and safety of GoWhys, its publisher, site visitors, or others.

External, affiliated, and sponsored links

GoWhys links to independent businesses, affiliated businesses, government resources, transportation services, and other websites. When a visitor follows an external link, the destination website may receive standard request information and will apply its own privacy practices.

Some links may be identified as sponsored, affiliated, or connected to a Trusted Partner relationship. That relationship does not give GoWhys control over the destination website's privacy practices. Visitors should review the destination's policy before submitting personal information, making a purchase, or completing a booking.

If GoWhys later uses trackable affiliate or referral links, the relationship and relevant privacy effects will be disclosed.

Retention and security

GoWhys does not intentionally retain search phrases in a separate search database. Standard technical logs may be retained within the hosting environment according to available hosting systems, security needs, operational requirements, and applicable law.

Reasonable care should be used with information under GoWhys' control, but no website, network, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children's privacy

GoWhys provides general travel information and is not directed to children under 13. The current site does not knowingly collect personal information from children through accounts, forms, or submissions because those features are not offered.

Changes to this policy

The effective date will be updated when this policy changes. Material changes should be described clearly and should not be applied secretly to information previously collected under a different promise.
